Thank you for your interest in getting involved with the Kids Ministry team! We are glad you want to serve alongside our teams as we partner with parents to inspire faith in the next generation. To best ensure excellent, safe, and engaging environments, we have an on-boarding process for volunteers: 1. Application -> 2. Background Screening -> 3. Family Ministry Covenant -> 4. Test Drive -> 5. Playbook -> 6. Ministry Safe Training -> 7. Regular Serving Rotation.

Can’t wait to serve with you!

1. Application:

To begin the process, we want to get to know a little bit about you and your interests, so please fill out the volunteer application below.

2. Background Screening:

The safety of the children in Northridge Kids Ministry is our highest priority. Once your application has been approved, all Northridge Kids volunteers must complete a nationwide level criminal and sexual predator background check. All information will be kept confidential, and used only for our purposes in evaluating your fit in Northridge Kids Ministry.

(Prefer a hard copy of the background check? Please download, complete, and turn in to your campus Kids Director.)

3. Family Ministry Covenant

By choosing to enter into a leadership role in one of our family ministry environments, you are entering into a position of influence and authority. Our children, teens, and their parents will watch you closely and take what you say seriously. We think that is a good thing.  Leaders should be role models. The challenge is that being a role model is all-encompassing. As a role model, your lifestyle is part of the equation. What you present in your ministry area should be consistent with who you are in your various roles the remainder of the week. Would you please read through and agree with these commitments in the Family Ministry Covenant?

4.Test Drive:

Once you complete the application, background check, and Family Ministry Covenant, we’ll contact you about setting up a test drive so you can experience the environment, meet leaders and teammates, ask questions, and determine which role is the best fit. We value your willingness to give your time and talents to our Kids Ministry!

5. Volunteer Playbook:

Our Volunteer Playbook gives best practices and policies for serving in our Kids environments. Please read and be familiar with this information to best set you up to serve our families well.

6. Ministry Safe Training:

MinistrySafe helps ministries meet legal standards of care and reduce the risk of sexual abuse by creating preventative measures tailored to fit the needs of churches, camps and ministry programs. All adult Kids Volunteers are required to complete this training. We’ll send you the training via email, which is entirely online and takes approximately 1.5 hrs to finish.

7. Congrats!

After completing this onboarding process above, we’ll follow-up to put you on a regular serving rotation and answer any questions. We are so glad you are on the team!
